The next talk in the learning seminar for bounded gaps between primes will be this upcoming Wednesday, February 5th in room MC 4062, at 4:00 PM. I will be giving the next talk. The title and abstract is below.

Zhang’s Theorem Implies Bounded Gaps Between Primes

In the first talk of the learning seminar we mentioned that Yitang Zhang proved a modified version of the Bombieri-Vinogradov theorem with larger level of distribution, and that this result implies the existence of infinitely many pairs of primes of bounded distance from each other. In the following talk JC gave an overview as to how Zhang’s theorem can be proved. In this talk we proved the existence of infinitely pairs of primes within a bounded distance from each other assuming Zhang’s theorem.
